Its Showtime!

Jersey Hospice Care, in collaboration with local entertainment company Performers, is delighted to announce an exciting new event for the 2018 calendar, Showtime.

A celebration of talent both on and off island and in celebration of the life of local performer Gabrielle Robbe, the event will take place on Saturday 10 March 2018 at the Jersey Opera House and will feature a variety of performance styles and acts from magicians to singers and Bollywood dancers. British ventriloquist Paul Zerdin, who won America’s Got Talent in 2015 with his puppet Sam, is confirmed as Showtime’s headline act and will wow crowds with his fast-paced lip syncing.

As well as UK and international acts, there will also be the opportunity for local talent to audition for the chance to be a part of Showtime. Auditions will be held at the Opera House on Sunday 15 October from 14.30 to 21.00 for all ages, abilities and acts. Hopeful auditionees will perform their act in front of judges, who will include Guy Browning (Gabrielle Robbes husband) and Julie Chateau (Director at Performers).

Emelita Robbins, Chief Executive at Jersey Hospice Care said, The whole team at Jersey Hospice Care is looking forward to seeing what acts take to the stage at auditions for Showtime and who knows, we might even find our very own Paul Zerdin or Pudsey the dancing dog!

Its even more special that we are doing this in celebration of Gabrielle Robbe, who lived her life to the full and didn’t let her illness stop her doing what she loved, performing. At Jersey Hospice Care, we echo this sentiment and want to spread her vitality by putting on this evening of entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

The show will be in the very capable hands of Director Christophe Chateau, who commented: We are delighted to be a part of this exciting new event with Jersey Hospice Care in memory and celebration of our dear friend and colleague, Gabrielle Robbe. Gabrielles talents knew no bounds and we are so pleased that her daughter Finleigh and husband Guy will be involved on the evening to help continue her legacy.
We are looking forward to seeing what acts we will get through the door at the auditions on the 15th and would encourage anyone who’s got a passion for performing to come down, it will be fun and informal and a great opportunity to see the huge amount of talent we have in Jersey. With the likes of Paul Zerdin and some of London’s top West End stars also taking to the stage, Showtime promises to be a fabulous evening of fun and thrills for all the family.

Tickets for Showtime start at 30.00 and 130.00 for VIP tickets, which will include a champagne reception. Tickets will go on sale from 1 November and will be available from the Opera House box office and online at www.jerseyoperahouse.co.uk with early bird rates available for those who book before the end of the year. All money raised from the evening will go directly to Jersey Hospice Care.
