Bukit Lawang Trust - English Teacher Opportunity
English Teacher Opportunity!
The Bukit Lawang Trust will be taking over the running of the Bukit Lawang English School.  Up until this point, the English School has been supported by a Dutch Agency.  They have had to withdraw their support, and therefore the Bukit Lawang Trust is taking over the running of the School. The School sees over 70 children a day, between 6 and 16, and the lessons are free.
The Bukit Lawang Trust has also entered a partnership project with the Ana Leaf Foundation to sponsor six English Teachers to go out to Bukit Lawang over 2011.  Each English Teacher will be based at the Bukit Lawang Trust Community Centre Base and there will be six teachers over the year, each working a 2 month placement.
The English teachers will preferably be from Jersey and have a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) or TESOL, or equivalent qualification, and will receive £1,000 towards travel and vaccinations, as well as living at the Bukit Lawang Trust Base, where accommodation and food will be included for the 60 day placement.  The Teachers will visit on a social visa and the Trust will begin interviews 20th November 2010.
