Jersey Post Size-Based Pricing Workshop for Association of Jersey Charities 1 pm Wednesday 21 April Postal Headquarters Rue des Prés Trading Estate. To assist Jersey charities to minimise the impact of Size-based Pricing, Jersey Post is holding a workshop for members at which the General Manager of Postal Services, Andy Jehan will explain how it works. Jersey Post will be implementing the new, Size-based Pricing (SBP) structure for postage charges on Saturday 8 May 2010. From this date, all items posted in Jersey will be charged according to their size as well as their weight. This will result in a number of changes to the traditional methods that customers use to send items with Jersey Post. The first change will be the creation of three new categories into which all items will fit - Letter, Large Letter and Packet. Jersey Post appreciates that the introduction of SBP will have an impact on some customers, in particular those who rely on postal services to contact members or to get messages across to the public. The purpose of the workshop is to explain the mailing solutions available to assist members in saving money. One of the money-saving solutions for charities is the introduction of new delivery options for all local mail offering greater choice for customers posting locally. Rather than just one service, there will soon be two - Standard at 36p per item and Priority at 39p. The Standard Service will be cheaper than Priority as it has a maximum three-day delivery target - ideal for membership mailings - whilst Priority will provide next-day local delivery. Parking is available at Postal HQ. As numbers are limited please RSVP at your earliest to Lyn Roach on
