Jersey Army Cadet Force League

Looking for assistants and instructors.

Name of Organisation: Royal Jersey Militia Army Cadet Force

Brief Description of Activities: The Jersey ACF is a youth organisation catering for 12 to 18 year olds who's aim is to develop young people in adventurous training, teamwork and leadership. Although affiliated with the British Army, and locally the Jersey Field Squadron, the ACF is not a recruitment arm of the Army. The ACF undertakes a number of activities ranging from camping and fieldcraft to parachuting as well as navigation, drill, shooting, field cooking, first aid, climbing and much more. It is a great way to have fun and stay active.

Position: Civilian Assistants and Adult Instructors

Brief Description of Duties: Civilian Assistants are needed to help supervise the Cadets and help run activities and support functions. This may include helping with training, running admin functions like the tuck shop or equipment stores or helping teach specialist subjects such as brick laying (since we are affiliated to a Royal Engineers unit).  Adult Instructors require slightly more commitment than a Civilian Assistants in that they must undergo training to teach and test a number of subjects taught to Cadets. Your efforts and extra commitment are rewarded with access to more activities, the ability to travel to the UK and Guernsey for training weekends or the Annual Camp, go parachuting and you even get paid while undertaking Adult Training.

Contact Details: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or visit www.JerseyACF.org or www.armycadets.com

Notes: We are specifically looking for female instructors to support our growing number of female cadets but we always welcome applications for Male instructors and male and female Cadets. The ACF offers a real opportunity to help youngsters grow in their confidence and skills. Adult Instructors and Cadets wear Army uniform and hold adult and cadet ranks respectively. Civilian Instructor do not have to wear uniform, but we do encourage them to do so to feel fully part of the ACF family.
