Description of Activities: To provide treatment to patients that suffer from lymphoedema that has been contracted not as a result of treatment for cancer. Cancer related lymphoedema is treated free of charge at Jersey Hospice. Non cancer related lymphoedema is not treated by G.P.s or by the hospital and our organisation is the only one that can and does help. We provide treatment free of charge, aside from the initial assessment charge, but each patient is asked to pay a yearly membership fee (£15.00 that goes directly towards funding the clinic and is a derisory amount) and must pay for their own hosiery, which can be costly. To pay for our therapist we fundraise year on year and look for donors where possible. Our main support is Lloyds TSB who has funded us for the past eight years but there is no guarantee that, in this recessionary climate, they will continue to do so.

Volunteer Position: Honorary Secretary.

Brief description of duties: The taking of and typing up of the Minutes of each meeting - generally held monthly. All patient correspondence that includes membership renewal letters, newsletters and communications regarding future fundraising events. The upkeep of spread sheets listing all patients membership details (fees/addresses/100 Club memberships etc). General record keeping of all communication between Committee Members.
