DESCRIPTION:This sponsored event is open to anyone willing to spin for an hour slot at Club Carrefour\, St Lawrence. Now in its 17th year\, you are invited to spin to raise funds in memory of Jay Morris\, a keen racing cyclist and founder member of the Velo Cycling Club\, who died from cancer in 2003 aged 30. We hope that approx 60 people will take part\, led by Club Carrefour&rsquo\;s instructors\, who give their time free of charge for the event\, which is also supported by Mark Pickford Cycles. The first event was set up to raise awareness of Jay&rsquo\;s illness and he was due to take part but he died a few weeks before it was scheduled to take place. Since then Jay&rsquo\;s family has organised an annual Spinathon as a tribute to Jay and as a fundraiser for Jersey Hospice Care. Spinners can book one hour slots using the registration form. There is a registration fee of &pound\;10 per person\, which includes a t-shirt\, and it&rsquo\;s hoped as much sponsorship funds as possible will be raised by participants.
