We are delighted to be launching our very first music academy, Rock on the Rock, this summer, proudly supported by JT. Fifty lucky and talented students from across the Island will receive personal and group tuition from five fully qualified professional and gigging music tutors during a five-day intensive music programme. A range of musical styles will be covered including Blues, Rock, Reggae and Pop and on the last day students will take part in a final gig, that will be recorded and filmed. In addition, the winning band from each week will also have the opportunity to play in a slot on JT’s Stage during a free concert for islanders at the forthcoming Super League Triathlon event in September. Taking place at School during the week commencing 23rd July or week commencing 30th July, the course is being provided by experts in their musical fields, and tutors include our own Leigh Saunter, and Tom Quenault, who is currently enjoying considerable success in the UK with the Mosaics. Each five-day course will offer any musical students from Years 7 to 13 the chance to join a band and learn the skills to perform their favourite songs. The course costs £230 and auditions are taking place at Beaulieu on Saturday 2nd June.
