Originally farmland, Oaklands is a rambling garden surrounded by beds containing many specimen shrubs and trees. As you walk around you will find Cherries, Exochorda, Azaleas and Rhododendron and further still a beautiful woodland walk with a carpet of bluebells. Oaklands is a plantsman’s garden with a well recognised arboretum. The trees planted by Jurat Bonn include Acers, Drimys, Michelia, Metasequoia and what is reputed to be Jersey’s largest walnut. An informal and natural feel prevails throughout. A further highlight is the well-stocked kitchen garden which keeps the family self-sufficient in fruit and veg. Open by kind permission of the owners.
