Safe Guarding Children

Child Protection is not something that only charities working directly with children need worry about. Most charities although it may not be their prime objective, have some sort of contact with children. This can be indirectly or just occasionally and committee members and trustees need to be aware of their responsibilities.

The Association of Jersey Charities members were invited to attend a 60 minute presentation on Wednesday 14th May from 5.30pm to hear Janet Brotherton, Inter-Agency Child Protection Trainer, give a brief overview and answer questions on: Considering the safety of children, considering your responsibilities, consider staff/volunteering recruitment, consider a policy for your charity. Janet will be happy to discuss further training needs at the end of the session

The presentation took place at St Paul's Centre, Dumaresq Street, St Helier and was arranged for the Members of the Association of Jersey Charities.
