AJC encourages islanders to support charities through Wills during Jersey Legacy Week
Taking place next week (7th – 13th September), Jersey Legacy Week coincides with Remember a Charity Week in the UK and aims to bring together charities, lawyers and other professional advisers to highlight both the importance of making a Will and the impact gifts left in Wills can make to charitable organisations, no matter how big or small.
In particular, the AJC is pleased to be playing its part in championing the local impact of legacy giving as part of a “Leave a Better Tomorrow” campaign, that brings together the Jersey Fundraising Forum and a coalition of local charities to showcase the impact legacy giving can have.
In particular, the AJC has created a dedicated web page where there is information for charities and professional advisers about legacy giving, as well as a range of assets, graphics and posters that charities, businesses and individuals can share over the week to show their support.
UK figures underline the importance of legacy giving. Over the past 30 years, legacy incomes have quadrupled in value, from £0.9bn in 1995 to £4.4bn in 2025 (Legacy Futures).
