Committee Member - Senior Human Resources Advisor (Voluntary position)
Working closely with all the Committee members, the HR member will provide direct support to the Committee on all Freeda HR matters. The HR member is a full Committee member and attends meetings (6 per year) and actively engages in Freeda activities. Committee member responsibilities include ensuring Freeda adheres to the Charity’s Constitution, good governance and oversight of the charity’s activities in fulfilling its mission.

This is a voluntary role, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a local charity, with a strong profile, delivering critical services to our islanders. Ideally it would suit someone who is able to dedicate some time and energy to our cause.

Freeda has a team of 15 full time and 5 bank staff. HR is critical to providing the right working environment for our team to deliver the best results for our clients, particularly as the nature of the work is emotionally challenging and can take its toll on staff. As the Freeda Committee’s HR advisor, you will advise the Committee on all aspects designed to ensure effective HR governance and support the wellbeing of staff as well as guiding the CEO and Committee in specific situations, as and when required.

Vice Chair of the Freeda Committee (Voluntary position)
Working closely with the Committee members, the Vice Chair will provide direct support to the Chair who leads and coordinates the Committee’s work. Together with the Secretary and Treasurer, the Chair and Vice-Chair will work to ensure effective governance, adherence to the Charity’s Constitution, and oversight of the charity’s activities in fulfilling its mission.

This is a voluntary role, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a local charity, with a strong profile, delivering critical services to our islanders. Ideally it would suit someone who is able to dedicate time and energy to our cause, with a view to assuming the role of Chair at the end of 2027.

As Vice-Chair, you will support the Chair in all activities to ensure effective leadership of the Committee, facilitate decision-making processes, guiding the strategic direction and effective governance of Freeda.  In the absence of the Chair, you will fulfil the role to ensure Committee meetings proceed as scheduled, normally 6 a year, unless circumstances require an additional meeting.

Closing date for both positions is 10th October.
