"Wet feet and grins like Cheshire cats". That was the quote that best summed up last year's Seymour Sprint. Offering the 10km Long Beach - Seymour Slip and out to the iconic Seymour Tower and back again, or the shorter 6km Long Beach - Seymour Slip (not the Tower) and back. ***PRE-EVENT BOOKING ESSENTIAL *** there will be NO on the day registrations. Fancy a 10km Seymour Sprint or 6km Seymour Six? This run takes place along Jersey’s South East coast, out to the historic Seymour Tower and back to the start, racing the tide across this beautiful Ramsar site. The 10km trail run, from Long Beach - Seymour Slip - Seymour Tower and back, is across the inter-tidal zone, so be prepared to get WET and run over sandy and rocky surfaces. The 6km run is from Long Beach - Seymour Slip and back (not the tower). The run takes place over beach and inter-tidal terrain and shoes and clothing will be exposed to sea water and part of the course may be underwater. You are expected to use common sense, follow the marshalled route and avoid running over rocky outcrops and through deeper water. This event will be physically challenging - you will be running 10km across uneven coastal/ inter-tidal terrain, through the gulleys. Due to the risk of tidal cut-off, there is a time limit for reaching the turn-around point (40mins - 5km). YOU MUST BE ABLE TO RUN THE 10KM DISTANCE WITHIN THE 90 MINUTE TIME SET. You are expected to be in good health and not have any medical conditions which might prevent you doing that.
