The Shelter Trust
As a Chef with the Shelter Trust, the post-holder will be responsible for ordering stock, preparing and producing meals for service users; taking into account any individual dietary requirements, whilst providing a choice in food offering for lunch and dinner.
Day-to-day tasks include:
Arranging meal offerings together with the Project Manager
Preparing and planning meals in accordance to the availability of food items donated to the Trust
Sourcing ingredients from local suppliers
Managing and monitoring the agreed budget for all kitchen expenditure
Considering a choice of meal options that are healthy and cater for specific dietary requirements
Ensuring high standards of food hygiene and health and safety requirements are maintained and adhered to
Taking all reasonable steps to minimize food wastage and preserve food quality
Where required, providing guidance and support to service users on producing healthy meals within a financial budget
