The Jay Morris Spinathon is on from 11:00 - 17:00 on 24 February at Club Carrefour in St Lawrence. This sponsored event is open to anyone willing to spin for an hour slot at Club Carrefour, St Lawrence. You are invited to spin to raise funds in memory of Jay Morris, a keen racing cyclist and founding member of the Velo Cycling Club, who died from cancer in 2003 aged 30. We hope that around 60 people will take part, led by Club Carrefour’s instructors, who give their time free of charge for the event, which is also supported by Mark Pickford Cycles. The first event was set up to raise awareness of Jay’s illness. He had planned to take part, but he died a few weeks before it was due to happen. Since then, Jay’s family has organised an annual Spinathon as a tribute to Jay and as a fundraiser for Jersey Hospice Care
