Whether it’s back pain, headaches, widespread body pain or another long-term pain condition, living with pain can have a huge impact on everyday life. Pain Support Jersey is delighted to offer an informative presentation led by Darren O’Sullivan MSc, PgC, BSc (Hons), RODP, Clinical Specialist Practitioner in Pain Management.
What will the talk cover? Darren will explain: • The neuroscience behind persistent pain • How pain cycles can develop and continue • Why pain can sometimes persist even when an original injury has healed • Practical ways to live well despite persistent pain • How understanding pain can help improve quality of life
Persistent pain is pain that continues for more than three months and can affect work, daily routines, relationships and overall wellbeing. It is also incredibly common, affecting more than 20% of adults worldwide. Understanding what is happening within our bodies can be an important step towards managing persistent pain and living well alongside it.
This talk is open to anyone affected by persistent pain, as well as family members, friends, carers and anyone interested in learning more.
Please share this with your friends, family and colleagues — you never know who might benefit from understanding their pain a little better.
